Danny is still looking around for the source of the voice. Because cats didn't talk.

Right? Okay, so he knew he still had all kinds of memories missing, but you'd think he'd remember something like talking animals.

"Of course I heard you. You're talking, aren't you?"

The cat tail - crooked at one part in the middle - swishes. "That's right. But not everyone hears me. You have a core."

Danny stares blankly at the cat.

"Uh, sorry? What is a core?"

"A core belongs to someone who's died." Simple enough, right?

Considering Danny hadn't yet remembered certain important details about his life? This was just confusing him even more. He stares at the cat in complete bemusement.

"But I'm not dead. I think I'd remember something like that. You know?"
