she rings like a bell through the night

Who: OTA
Where: Go Ask Alice
When: June 26 - July 31
What: Just an open catch-all for the tea shop and anyone who frequents it! And this can double as a Jefferson catch-all if you want to toss up a starter for him, specifically, that isn't set at the tea shop.
Warnings: Reference to death. Warn in the subject line as necessary.

[Open]

For a shop filled with very delicate tea cups, Go Ask Alice weathered the assault on the town reasonably well-- at least in terms of damage done to the location, itself. A broken window, overturned tables, the tea selection in disarray... All things considered, it wouldn't be too bad for the shop, if not for the fact that the odd little 'family' of Go Ask Alice (not just staff, but extended family, like friends and regulars) just suffered a major loss when Rhiannon Allan died saving Eliot from the abominations tearing through Wayward Pines.

When the shop reopens five days later, on the heels of loss and violence and horrific revelations, there's a little memorial to her in the shop, and for a couple weeks, Fleetwood Mac's playing a lot more often. And you'd better not throw any unfinished pastries or bread products away. TOSS THEM OUTSIDE FOR THE BIRDS. (Look, the town's trashed enough right now, anyway. What's some bread?) After a few weeks, a hand-stitched felt raven takes residence on the counter. Jefferson can't quite place why he knows how to make stuffed animals so intuitively, but he chalks it up to his natural talent with a needle and thread.

Another change in the atmosphere of Go Ask Alice in the days after Dr. Rousseau's announcements: regular 'storytelling' events in the evenings, where people can come by to talk about their home worlds in a sort of 'open mic' setting, followed by a mingle. Stop by on the right night, and you might even hear Jefferson talk about his own adventures in a number of worlds-- Wonderland, Oz, a land without color, Narnia, among others-- with some details falling into place that may make it increasingly plausible that he might, in fact, be the actual Mad Hatter.

(Just don't call him that to his face. It's a touchy subject.)

So come on in and have a cup of tea. Or, well, anything else on the menu (which will see some changes in July, as a new/old staff member arrives). And enjoy the music (and the staff selected music). And... the company of the (occasionally, to varying degrees) helpful staff.

[Hehehehehhehehehe. Snort. Yeah. Yeah, she did. She figures the mischievous giggle is enough of an answer for him and leaves it at that.

It momentarily distracts her from the dramatic couch flopping and the dramatic imagery of a dramatic sheriff being dramatic.]

Yeah, let's talk about that. Our real lives. You seem hella chill all things considered. Upside of things is, my shitty fam is gone. Downside, so is everyone else I ever knew and loved? Present company excluded.

[But there's still a chance for Bo and the other fae and that gives her hope. That means all is not lost! There's a chance. Sure, she'll never get to patch things up with her mom, but she'd given up on that relationship a long time ago. Knowing she could still find Bo makes losing everything else less painful.

But what about Jefferson. Didn't he just lose everyone he cares about, too?]
