( june event ) who's that pokemon?

For the residents of Wayward Pines, the 19th is just your typical boring Monday. The sun is shining. The birds are chirping.
Until suddenly, they're not.
That's the first sign. Maybe you don't even notice — you're far too busy with your nine-to-five, or maybe even by poolside, blissfully ignorant to the trouble brewing just out of sight, or to the fact that SPF 15 is basically just water anyway. Or maybe you aren't quite so lucky. You notice the birds have gone silent. You feel the eyes upon you, unseen but still raising goosebumps on the back of your neck.
And then from the woods, that telltale scream.
No, two screams, then three, then five, then more than a dozen. You can't count them, can't figure out which direction they're coming from. It's like they're all around you now. Even above you. Now you spot them on the rooftops — god, they're huge, you can't even fathom how they made it up there unnoticed.
But they're not playing at stealth anymore. One leaps off the roof, a single fluid bound on long thick limbs, and barely lands on the sidewalk for a moment before it lunges at the nearest person — your neighbor mowing his lawn, or maybe the woman carrying that armful of bags out of French's Grocery — long claws slicing through their flesh like a hot knife through butter. Then comes another, and another. Into the streets, the backyards, and the ill-timed pool parties, tearing through every living soul they can find.
By nightfall, the creatures have retreated back into the woods en masse, but anyone foolish enough to wander too far from the safety of their homes runs the risk of being picked off one by one if they're not careful. The 20th and 21st follow a similar pattern; during the day, the Sheriff and a team of volunteers comb through the woods looking for survivors, and during the night, these creatures do much the same.
The morning of the 22nd dawns with the last of the vicious "murder potatoes" (as Linda had hysterically dubbed them on the first day while wielding a butcher's knife with astonishing proficiency) have fallen, and the danger is gone.
For now, anyway. The questions they leave behind, however? Those are here to stay.MOD NOTES
This is a catch-all for any and all threads pertaining to the Who's That Pokemon event! It covers the battle on the 19th and the lingering danger over the course of the 20th and 21st.

[Once he doesn't feel like he's going to pass out from hunger, Alec moves the plate over where Roman can reach it, giving him an apologetic smile.]
Fighting plus fast metabolism. There's ways I can keep going without eating, but it'd ruin that pacing.
[He appreciates that Roman isn't pretending that they know what the threat is or saying that it will be a short siege when they don't know what those things are or how many there are.]
I'm not going to intentionally burn out but if it's a choice between that and keeping the wards up, I'll let Magnus take as much as he needs.
[Magnus wouldn't take that step, but hopefully they'd find others that could 'power' the wards other than the Lightwood siblings.]
We might be able to get an idea of numbers or set up methods of attack that aren't going to wear out our fighters. Izzy can think up something if we give her enough information to work with.

Been working on collecting information. We've got a good vantage with the height of the hospital but actual reconnaissance is too tricky without more surefire ways of fighting back.
What does Magnus take from you to keep powered up? Maybe we can find others.
[ Like universal blood donors. Only... powers. ]
no subject
Have you interviewed the fighters that have been out there? That could give us details on weaknesses, where to hit them, what will drive them back.
[It might not result in much that can help but sometimes all that's needed is one word or some seemingly insignificant detail...
Taking a swallow of coffee, Alec tries to think of the best explanation when he really doesn't have the knowledge needed to explain how Magnus' magic works other than 'genetics'.]
Honestly, I'm not sure. We call it 'sharing strength'. That's what it feels like. He uses my vitality to power his magic or to heal others. He can do the same with others, if they'll trust him to not take too much.
no subject
If he uses vitality, I'll talk to him. [ His lips quirk up, entertained by the idea that he can't do any magic but maybe he can be a battery. Sure, why not? ] Pretty sure I don't run out of that.
no subject
[Magnus might be able to help but Alec's not going to promise any more of his husband's focus when he's not sure how difficult it'll be to keep up the wards.
Arching an eyebrow at the comment about vitality, he's not sure if he should ignore it or try for more information. Since Alec's never really understood tact...]
Everyone runs out of energy eventually.
no subject
Maybe so, but I'm pretty sure it'll take longer than anyone here's got before I do. [ He cants his head to the side, regarding Alec. They just recently came to town, didn't they? Relatively so. Not long enough to really know. ] Right, okay. I don't age, don't get hurt for long, so I doubt whatever it is Magnus does will be a problem.
no subject
[it might not help those without training but every advantage known could save someone's life.
For a moment, he looks surprised by the admission, then he scans Roman for some sign of a warlock mark before realizing that there isn't going to be one. He can't be a warlock if he doesn't know about 'sharing strength' and didn't know how Magnus' magic worked.]
I know a few people like that, but they still run out of energy. Unless they're... [Alec seen one type of being who wouldn't run out of energy but... No, he'd be basically vaporized or blind if Roman was Angelic.] Well, they wouldn't easily fit inside a hospital
no subject
[ No actual magic to him. Something... greater, beyond perhaps, but nothing like magic. ]
Really? That's a first for me. It's worth trying, at any rate.
no subject
[It'd been that way in the past, Alec is certain of that even if he doesn't remember all the details of that particular mission.]
Which part? Knowing immortals or knowing something that has that kind of power but wouldn't fit inside the building?
It's worth trying but we'll need to find a long term solution to keeping them out if this lasts more than a few days. [Pausing, he looks over his shoulder at the direction where he'd last seen his husband.] I don't like Magnus having to hold the wards like this. It'd be too easy for him to go too far.
