[They're gone. Not all of them, Elena's still here, but Katherine, Damon, Stephan... hell, even his boss had disappeared over the weekend. This isn't the first time someone he knew in the "past" vanished, and he's not looking forward to the coming weeks. He knows that whatever memories he'd had of Rachel before they met in the hospital had vanished like a dream and if the same thing happens with his family...

He'd gotten used to having one again.

Unsettled, and having left Elena with friends for the night, Nyx checks on his people one by one to make sure they, too, are still here. He shouldn't have waited so long to visit Jack. His brother was his first family, but with his brother come the oni and Nyx isn't certain he's willing to deal with Ibaraki threatening to kill whatever caused his pain. He doesn't have a target to point her towards even if he wanted to.

But he needs to check to make sure Jack is still here, so here he is knocking and trying not to feel like everything's falling apart.]

[He's been pretty reasonable about things going crazy around him. His threshold for daily 'what the fuck' levels has only increased upon meeting Ibaraki.

But despite the things he's seen, despite the things he's done, the image of a young girl arms deep in a corpse makes him balk. Nyx freeze, staring at her, and his stomach twists unpleasantly when she moves her hands and the beast squishes.

His first actual thought, out of a blank self-preservation, is that the blood is going to stain the wood. Then a reminder that this ins't the first time she's done this and at least she's outside.

He just wanted to make sure Jack was still here.
