Alec had heard the messages, but hadn't reacted in obvious ways. He'd sat down with a book, pretending to read while mulling over what was going on. He didn't know anyone who had made the announcements but they seemed to believe their warnings. Alec had felt something in his leg after the accident, the tracker he assumed, but he'd thought it was a remnant of an old injury. He had enough scars to make the idea plausible.

Video cameras. Trackers. Bodies that weren't human.

Just another Saturday night...

Shaking his head, he knew that the cameras and the trackers weren't normal in relation to the life he'd had in New York. Unidentifiable species didn't faze him either. Technically, most of his friends had been in the 'not-human' category and Nephilim and Warlocks might not be classified as human either. If the Mundanes in town started to fear their Downworlder neighbors...

Standing, set down his book and he poked his head into Magnus' workshop, smiling at his husband to hide his worries. "Didn't you want Izzy and me to show you the staff work we're starting to remember?" The training room would be perfect for the three of them to discuss what was going on.

It's easy for Izzy to hide what's on her mind beneath the playful banter with her brother and Magnus. Hiding things, information or the extent of her knowledge, is second nature for her as a shadowhuhnter. It's not that it's a part of the training, but it's something that Izzy knows any good shadowhunter develops with time. Grinning at Magnus' tease it explodes into a full-fledged laugh at Alec's commentary. "Only she'd never do that to you...maybe to someone else." Izzy shrugs, jokingly.

And despite what she's saying, Izzy knows that she'd never do that to anybody. She doesn't want to steal someone. She'd much rather have someone that isn't attached. And someone that has integrity. A girl has to have her standards, after all. Maybe that's a part of why she's single?

Playing with the bangle on her wrist, her electrum whip and favored weapon, Izzy smirks. "I'm sure it won't be a crushing defeat, you stand a chance. But whatever happens here stays here, promise." She follows that with a nod directed at her brother, remaining light about everything. "Including me beating my big brother in a spar with staves!" Her tone is bright as she finishes descending the stairs, exuding confidence. Her brother may be bigger, but they have similar training and she is confident in her abilities....even if she doesn't win she approaches pretty much everything with gusto and confidence that she may not always have. They're not addressing the cameras because whoever, exactly, it is that is watching them doesn't need the warning of what is coming.

And Izzy's just doing her part to play into making them look just like any othe saccharinely cute family unit, sort of. Dropping her hand from her wrist Izzy poses a question. "You don't mind if I use my own, right, Alec?" The question comes out as she feels the cool metal slither on her wrist, almost as if anticipation.

"And I don't think she has any interest in me. I guess there's no accounting for poor taste," he teased with a wink in Izzy's direction. Though it was fun to joke about, Magnus was confident that Alec harbored no feelings of jealousy when Magnus had so obviously chosen him. Not only were they married, but they had left everything they knew behind to start a new life together. That wasn't something Magnus would do for just anyone, least of all a Shadowhunter.

Chuckling at the trash talk, Magnus lazily waved a hand through the air like he was wafting away silly details. While the gesture seemed casual, in reality it was to cast a spell that turned the camera originally aimed at the main sparring area until it was directed, very unhelpfully, at a wall. It wasn't exactly a subtle move, but it always wasn't enough to get them noticed in the short time it took to have a conversation.

"I wouldn't be as concerned if I could use magic, but the point is to hone other skills." He took a step closer to Alec and pushed up onto his toes to give him a kiss before retreating to the couch nearby where he could both act as audience and also participate in the conversation that was the main reason for them being here. "I have plenty of memories of watching Alec train, but never the two of you together. This should be as interesting as it is instructional."
