I. Rock Around The Clock
Being that this party is for the opening of a music store, it makes sense that the main feature of the night is a dance floor! Music from throughout the 1950s will be playing, both in the store itself as well as the large loft above that has been converted into a miniature sockhop for everyone in attendence. Records and streamers hang from the ceilings and there is a lot of black, white, and pink to be seen. There's also a small stage in one corner set up for anyone brave enough to pick up one of the guitars that usually adorn the shop downstairs, as well as several microphone stands that are hooked up to a karaoke machine. Come in and dance the night away! Anyone wearing era-appropriate attire will random prizes.
II. All Shook Up
Being that this is a Magnus party, there is a wide range of cocktails to sample being made at the open bar. Most of them are were what was popular at the time—Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, the classic Gin & Tonic—but requests for specialty drinks are being taken as well. There are also, in true 50s style, milkshakes that are creamy enough to tempt even those who would usually try to resist. But there's a twist: they're alcoholic. None will be served to minors, but it's totally possible that the adults won't realized their delicious treats are spiked until after they've had their second (or third) glass. Also, though the upper loft is well-lit for dancing, the first-floor store has plenty of dark corners for making bad decisions. So grab your honey, grab a drink, and enjoy the night together.
III. Tutti Frutti
Half of the upper loft is dedicated to refreshments as well as boasting furniture looks like it was ripped from a diner—you guessed it, chrome with red vinyl upholstery. A table along one wall is ladden with miniature versions of popular diner food— cheeseburgers, hot dogs, even tuna melts—as well as french fries and plenty of other finger food. And, because this is the 1950s, there's jello. Lots of jello. So much jello that it's insane, how can anyone love jello this much? Luckily, if you don't go ape over gelatine-based desserts, there are also record-shaped cookies and non-alcoholic milkshakes for the kiddies. Seeing as this is a small town with families, and thus minors, there are plenty of drink options for those who aren't yet old enough to drink or who prefer not to.
IV. La Bamba
No invite is necessary, IC or OOC, for anyone who'd like to jump in and join the party! It's safe to assume that flyers have been up around town to announce the time and place. Hopefully, with enough people in attendance throughout the night, there's plenty of chances to make friends (or maybe enemies). Feel free to choose your own adventure, and don't worry about boundaries—if it doesn't break the game, it won't break this party post! But be aware that your hosts, one of whom is a warlock and the other a demon hunter, won't stand for any altercations inside the store. Instead, maybe take it outside if the mood or your ex-girlfriend strike you. If you'd like to assume that you're helping run the party—bartending, music playing, etc—go nuts and have fun!

Except, Caroline secretly hoped that the most action that happened at this one was that someone spills a glass of something on the floor. After years of organizing and hosting decades dances, she just wants to go to a normal themed party and not have someone die. Please?
You will see Caroline dressed for the occasion.
I. Round the Clock.Caroline is a great dancer and if you're standing in the corner, she might pull you out onto the dance floor to dance with her.]
Come on, dance with me.
[ If she's not dancing, she's socializing or well, singing at the karaoke machine, after a drink or two. The town's resident music teacher prefers 80s tunes but she'll sing a few cute 50s themed songs for the occasion. ]
[ II. All Shook Up What's a party without a little booze? You'll catch Caroline getting a drink, taking a sip and--] You've got to try one of these.
I. Round the Clock.
Dancing up to Caroline in a way that is surely smooth, yet I have no idea how to describe, Magnus offers her a hand.] Anyone dressed like that is someone I must know. Thank you for coming to our party, my dear.
no subject
Thanks for throwing it. Magnus, right? [ Her grin widens.] I have to admit, seriously, this party is pretty amazing.
no subject
Smiling, he nods at the question. She's either one of the few that came after seeing the flyers around town, or is a friend of a friend. Either way, introductions are in order.] Magnus Lightwood-Bane. That delectable man over there—[He waves a hand towards Alec who is, of course, standing in a dark corner but is at least talking to another guest]—is Alec. He owns the shop downstairs and somehow agreed to be my husband.
[He spins her on the next cue in the music before pulling her right back in to continue the conversation.] And what do they call you?
no subject
[ She spins very gracefully when he twirls her and smiles again when he asks her name.] I'm Caroline Forbes. No hyphenated name, unfortunately, I'm tragically single. [ She doesn't sound too destroyed.]
no subject
Pleased to meet you, Caroline. There's nothing tragic about being single! Surely not everyone in town is tied down. [Though, as he glances around, he realizes that most of the friends he's made so far are taken.] I'd introduce you to something, but matchmaking is not one of my many skills.
no subject
My "love life" here is complicated enough but thank you for the offer. I'm happy for now.

II. All Shook Up
If the blonde's taste in alcohol is as good as her taste in fashion then Izzy figures she probably can't go very wrong. Stepping a little closer, Izzy tilts her head, grin going nowhere.] Well, when you put it that way! [Her tone is teasing, a bit of laughter in her voice, but she is in a good mood, after all.] What is it you've got here, exactly? [She asks curiously, game for just about anything, really.]

I don't care how many times memories hit me...it's still startling. [Iz reassures, still smiling, though it is a little bit jarred too.] I remember you too....Caroline, right? I seem to remember things in bits and pieces since my accident.
[This one is different, though. She remembers the blonde at one of the many, many monthly activities, and not only that, but she remembers the blonde and racks of clothing. A shop. Izzy is trying not to make a huge deal out of it, for the moment, though.]
So, what kind of liquor is in the milkshake, do you know?
no subject
I have no idea what kind of alcohol though. Probably some kahula or something.
no subject
Bobbing her head in a nod, though, Izzy can imagine that liquor being good in ice cream.] That makes sense. [Izzy goes for one of her own and lifts it up.]
I'm trusting your taste here, Care, so cheers! [The nickname comes unbidden and just...seems right. So, she figures it might belong to the woman that she didn't remember until stopping to talk to her. It really is strange how that works. Pushing that thought off Izzy takes a sip and her red lips form into a wide grin.] Okay, when you're right you're totally right! This is almost too good.

II. All Shook Up
There's a moment when he walks through the front doors that he considers just turning around and walking back out. Except there's a familiar voice, telling him he's got to try something, and he feels a mix of relief and doom.
Doom, because now he can't run away. ]
...What is it?
no subject
Just try it, dummy. [ It's an alcoholic, chocolate milkshake.]
no subject
[ He tries a little more. ] That's actually not bad. Is chocolate really that easy to get here?

America. [ He wants to be excited, intrigued, engaged with the fact that he's on a world he's never even heard of. Instead he's a hundred thousand parsecs away, thinking about D'Qar and the war and his talk with Cassian.
He's been thinking about Starkiller Base ever since he remembered it existed. BB-8 (at home with Rey) has even started harassing him about his mood. If he could just get above these cliffs, get in the air, see what's out there maybe he wouldn't feel so damn trapped and useless.
--He's probably been quiet for way too long, and this is a party. He makes a party face?? Yay?? ] I thought we were in Idaho.

One dance, then I have to dance with Magnus or he'll be disappointed the rest of the night.

Not as good. Magnus has more experience dancing than I do. [But that doesn't mean that he can't follow along easily. Dancing isn't that much different than fighting beside a partner.] You're... Caroline? I'm still having trouble remembering some things.
