Magnus set a hand on the ladder as Elena shifted, a subconscious precaution. "Damn, I need to work on my timing," he teased back, watching her descend with a bright smile. Once she was level with him, he pulled a hand from behind his back to offer her a cup of coffee that had most likely not been there a moment before. "I wasn't sure what you drink, so went for a classic latte. Anyone awake and working at this hour could use some caffeine."
