And I feel that when I'm with you, It's alright, I know it's right
Who: Alec Lightwood (
angelic_archer) and Magnus Bane (
appetitive)
Where: Their house, 6104
When: April 1st
What: The newlyweds explore their new home and try to figure out why Magnus is magical and why Alec looks kind of like he's in a gang.
Warnings: Newlywed sappiness. Make out sessions.

It was a relief to finally have clothes that covered everything important but when Alec saw all the leather, he wasn't quite sure what to make of his fashion choices. During the accident, he'd been dressed like he was really into goth, he was in a gang, or some weird mix of the two considering all his tattoos and scars. There was something odd about the clothes, but he kept his thoughts to himself, not really trusting anyone at the police station, but he had the feeling that being suspicious was normal for him. When both Magnus and he were dressed, it became obvious how different the two of them were. For a moment, he wondered if his memories were correct. Why would someone as vibrant as Magnus be interested in someone as dark as Alec?
Then Magnus looked at him and Alec knew this was right. This was the person he'd promised forever with and Magnus had made the same promise. He couldn't love someone this much and it be a mistake.
Looking over the rest of his belongings, he was annoyed that he couldn't have everything at once, but understood the precaution. He also wasn't sure why he'd been carrying a rock, but once he held it, it began to glow. Hastily shoving it into his pocket, he grabbed his house key and when Magnus was ready, they headed 'home'. Strange, magical rocks was something to figure out along with Magnus' cat eyes and the blue fire that he'd conjured up.
Except it didn't really feel like home now that they were standing in front of the large, stone structure. Something niggled at the back of his mind that made the house almost seem right but not quite. Maybe it was because it was new to them? Mentally shrugging off the thought, he took Magnus' hand, smiling at his husband. "Isn't there some Mundie tradition about marriage and thresholds?"

Catching sight of Alec, wearing lots of black leather that invited his eyes to roam over the full length of his limbs, Magnus felt his mouth go dry. He was gorgeous, attractive in the way that made Magnus itch to touch him and ensure that he was real and not some marble statue of a Roman god. But he breathed and moved and smiled and Magnus felt himself melting all over again. And because they were married and he felt absolutely no shame in doing so, he reached out and snaked his arm around Alec's bicep to hold on tightly.
So distracted by Alec next to him, he barely caught sight of the curious stone in his hand. But his cat eyes were quick, and he flashed a curious look up at Alec with one eyebrow raised. "Something to investigate at home," he said, no question in his voice. There seemed to be a lot to investigate, more questions arising with each moment spent on uncovering answers that continued to evade them. It was a dilemma that occupied his mind during their journey to their house, and he didn't register arriving until Alec was pulling him up short.
The house, as it turned out, was more of a small castle. Its grey stone and peaked roof seemed more appropriate for a Catholic church than a home for newlyweds in a small town. And yet, as he took in the numerous windows that denoted various rooms, the grounds surrounding and disappearing into the backyard, he couldn't help thinking that they would have no trouble filling the space. He couldn't imagine why, as they were just two very young men with no plans for adoption, but the word 'family' kept floating to the forefront of his mind. Luckily, Alec's question and the warm weight of his hand broke him from his meditations so he could look up at him with a mouth opened in slight awe. "If you're suggesting I carry you through the door, Alexander, I'm not entirely sure that I'm strong enough for that."

A cat, maybe, but family? They were newlyweds. Now wasn't the time to think of how they might have a family someday when they couldn't even remember when they'd gotten married.
Which meant that they should follow those 'Mundane' traditions, even if Alec wasn't sure what they were or what he'd meant by that phrase. Noticing Magnus' reaction, the way his lips had parted in surprise, Alec couldn't resist leaning in to give him a chaste, sweet kiss. He would have done more than that but he didn't want to shock the neighbors when he couldn't remember if the neighbors were used to their signs of PDA or if they'd call the cops on them for indecent exposure.
"I was suggesting that I carry you across the threshold. I know I'm strong enough." His voice was teasing, but his eyes darkened with an old fear that he didn't understand. Somehow he knew that he could carry Magnus. He'd done it before. Looking down at his husband, his heart felt like it was about to break from something he didn't understand. Like if he wasn't careful, he'd never see the bright, gold-green eyes that always captivated him or feel Magnus' warmth against his side again. "Please," he added softly before shoving aside the strange fear.
This was not the time to worry. Magnus was safe. No one, nothing, would hurt him when they were standing in their own yard during the middle of the day. The accident must be causing him to worry over things that didn't exist. "We don't want bad luck."

His attention slid back to Alec in time for the kiss that spread a bright smile over his face. Though he wasn't sure where the impression came from—they were married, after all—Magnus had the sensation of public affections like the kiss being unusual for them. But holding hands together, walking in such close proximity, filled him with excitement as if they were still brand new. It was a silly thought, and he shook himself from it in time to catch the change in his expression. It reminded him of the lost look Alec had worn when they'd found each other again after the hospital, as if he were getting lost in a memory that pained him even if he didn't remember the details. Gripping his hand more tightly, he took a step closer and lifted a hand to cup the side of his face. "Don't go somewhere I can't follow you," he said softly, pressing their foreheads together and giving him a reassuring smile. "We'll figure this out, Alec. I know we will."
Smoothing his hand over Alec's neck, he straightened the lapel of his leather jacket. "And I wasn't doubting you, my darling," he said softly, heart clenching with Alec's simple plea. He smiled at him, leaning up for another brief kiss. "I wouldn't dream of inviting bad luck into our new home. Though I can't guarantee I'll let you put me down once I'm in your arms," he said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.

Instead of focusing on that, he ran a hand over the black velvet of Magnus' jacket, smiling fondly at his husband. "I have the feeling we have very different tastes in decorating." Not that he'd mind the differences. They were part of the reason he loved Magnus so much. He was the most vibrant person he knew. Whatever had happened to his memory, Alec instinctively knew that it was true.
The terrible dread eased when Magnus' touched his face. Letting out a shuddering breath, he focused on the details of having Magnus with him. The warmth of his hand in Alec's. All the little points where they touched, the feeling of Magnus' breath on his skin. Slowly opening his eyes, his heart skipped when he saw all the colors reflected in Magnus' cat eyes. Somehow mixed in with all the sensations he knew were true was the ghostly feeling of Magnus in his arms, too light, breath rasping in a way that had been absolutely terrifying.
"I don't know where I was going, Magnus," he confessed, knowing that it was going to be a common problem until they both regained their memories. "Something bad happened. I know it did. I almost lost you." Whether it was the accident or something else, Alec knew that Magnus had nearly died. "I don't know if I want to figure that out. I know whatever happened, it nearly broke me."
Swallowing hard, he pushed the thought aside. The would figure it out eventually but not while they were standing outside their home, talking about traditions for good luck. The memory or whatever it was slowly eased and Alec gave Magnus a steady smile after returning the kiss. "Eventually you'll want me to put you down." Leaning in he whispered in Magnus' ear. "There's some things that we'll want to do that I can't do while carrying you."

Brows drawing together in a pained expression, Magnus lightly trailed his fingertips over Alec's jaw and down to his neck. Even though his man was one fo the few things he remembered in vivid detail, he was still struck with the urge to memorize every dip and curve and plane of his body until it was burned into his mind. Something gave him the feeling that, if he failed to do so, he would regret it later in his life. "I'm here with you, Alexander," he said rather than dwelling on the pain that had blossomed in the center of his chest. "Whatever may have happened, we're together and safe," he said even as hazy images of Alec, motionless on a bed, swam to the surface of his memory and sharpened the pain in his heart. "We left that dangerous life behind," he found himself saying despite the fact that he had no idea where he'd gotten the impression of their previous lives being so treacherous.
Tracing the line of Alec's smile with the pad of his thumb, Magnus mirrored it as he looked up at him. A shiver ran through him when Alec's lips brushed against his ear, and his hands tightly gripped either side of his leather jacket. "Oh, I am so looking forward to what those things may be," he whispered back, using his hands against Alec's chest to start pushing him backward towards the door. "I'm also curious to see where it is you set me down," he added with a smirk before leaning up to kiss him.

Black for hunting through the night. Where did that come from? It had a sing-song quality when it flitted through his mind. It did match his clothes. Everything he seemed to own was black. But what had he hunted that had made black important? Something with claws if the scars on his chest were related to it.
Maybe that was what he was struggling to remember. Whatever had caused the scars could have attacked Magnus. From the look of the old injuries, it had almost killed him. That could be the cause of the fear that tightened around his heart until Magnus began to soothe it away. Catching Magnus' hand, he lifted it so that he could kiss his husband's palm. "I know. Whatever it was is in the past. We have to focus on the present." But not the future. That felt like another subject that would cause heartbreak, but Alec didn't know why. Didn't most married couples want to think of their years together, spending their lives together, growing old...
For some reason he shied away from the thought but not before he was caught in a confusing mix of jealousy, suspicion, and resignation that was somehow more confusing than the phantom Magnus that he'd imagined at his side. "We did leave it behind. No more hunting." The word seemed to be a recurring theme but one that he knew was correct. "We get to start over somewhere that no one will condemn us." Alec wasn't sure why that was important. None of the people in town had looked at them with hostility or judgement when they'd been holding hands or nearly kissing on the street. At worst, they glared at them over their fashion sense not because they were two men together.
Reminding himself that they wanted to keep in their neighbors' good graces, Alec reminded himself that making out with Magnus on the front lawn was not socially acceptable. Maybe they could try it in the back garden but not on the street. When Magnus' hands caught at his coat, Alec slipped his fingers along the waistband of his husband's trousers, knowing that he was shielding Magnus from any prying eyes. "So am I, but we need to get inside if I'm going to show you."
Still walking backwards, he tugged Magnus along, stealing kisses until they were near the door. "Are there traditions about keys to go with the one about the threshold?"

Startled by the affectionate gesture of Alec kissing his hand, Magnus melted a little closer and pressed his palm against Alec's jawline. "The present is a gift," he said with a playful tone though the expression in his eyes was a serious one. Being with Alec, relatively safe from whatever it was they had left behind in their previous life, was a blessing for them both. Even if they couldn't remember everything that had happened before, Magnus knew that he would be happy wherever Alec was. He couldn't remember the hunting that Alec referenced, or even specific sources of the discrimination he could remember feeling. But he encouraged himself to let it stay in the past, hazy as smoke, so that he could focus on a new life.
"I wish it hadn't been necessary to leave your siblings," he found himself saying. The words felt as true as they had been spontaneous, and he only wished that he had any inkling of who those siblings were. But the only thing that he recalled, beyond the fact that Alec had siblings in the first place, was that they loved him dearly.
Leaning in close to Alec and sighing softly at the hands on his hips, he couldn't imagine a time when he felt happier—and the lack of past memories didn't count towards that, he was sure. He chuckled and softly kissed the side of Alec's neck before looking back up at him, swaying his hips forward in a teasing motion. "None that I recall," he murmured before remembering a thought he'd had at the station. Making a soft noise, he leaned back without pulling away fully. "I think this belongs to you," he said as he removed a ring from his finger with a large monogrammed M on the silver surface. "Neither of us are wearing wedding bands," he explained as he took Alec's hand in his and slipped the ring onto his left ring finger, "But I wear enough that they might have gotten mixed up in our things."

Were they always like this? Teasing each other and flirting as easily as other people discussed the weather? It seemed right, making Alec feel lighter than he had in years. Like some weight he'd carried for years had been taken away even if he didn't know what it had been. Whatever it was had been left behind, either by the amnesia or their new start together.
It was frustrating not to know what that had been. They had lost their first meeting, their first date, even their wedding day but at least they still had each other. Nuzzling Magnus' hand, he smiled softly, showing his husband that he understood what he'd meant and he felt the same way. The past was gone but the future was what mattered. "It is and so is the future since I get to spend it with you."
He was about to close the distance between them to kiss Magnus again when his husband mentioned Alec's siblings. For a moment his eyes lost focus. The girl with dark hair who called him big brother with a mixture of fondness and sisterly annoyance. A blond who was almost his age, bright eyes and a arrogant smirk that hid a pain that few new about. Alec's hand twitched around Magnus' as he almost reached for his side. The blond with his arm around a small boy who wore glasses... his heart ached so suddenly and painfully he had to force himself to breathe.
His siblings. The people he'd been searching for while looking for Magnus. "I'll see them again. They'd want us to be happy." Even if he couldn't even remember their names, he knew they'd want him to be happy. "Maybe, when over the amnesia, we can ask them to visit." They'd be pleased that Alec was here with his husband, not living in fear of those who would hurt them. "I want them to see that I don't have to hide anymore."
They did have to hide some things. He didn't want to spend the night in lock up because he couldn't keep his hands off his husband when in a few minutes they could be alone and do the kinds of things newlyweds were supposed to do when they were celebrating their first night in a new home. "Should I -" His voice trailed off when Magnus stopped moving, confused by the shift in mood until he slid off his ring and took Alec's hand.
"They might have," he agreed, smiling almost foolishly at the M that was so prominent on the ring. "I think this means I have to change my name to Lightwood-Bane." Catching Magnus' hand, Alec examined the rings, then reached for the other so he could look at the other jewelry that he wore. None of them seemed like a wedding ring, at least not the type that Alec would choose for his husband. His gaze fell to the ring he wore. The deceptively plain band with its pattern of flames with an L at the center seemed like it should belong to Magnus. "They did mix them up. This one is yours."
Slipping the band off, he held it so that Magnus could see the design before carefully placing it on Magnus' finger. "I feel like I should recite some kind of vows to make it right."

His heart melted at the easy press of Alec's face cheek against his palm, a tender motion that spoke of his trust for Magnus even after he'd seen how his hand could spark with fire. It made something in his heart clench to think that he was the one who got to see this side of Alec, the soft and loving man who cared so deeply about others. That tightness in his chest dropped to his stomach at the thought of the future, though he had no idea why there was suddenly a sense of dread filling him. Couples, especially married ones, were meant to look forward to a future together; Magnus took no solace in imagining them growing old together, partially because he couldn't see that future for himself. It made him shiver and step close to Alec, hoping his warmth would driving the feeling away.
He softened at the thought of Alec's siblings coming to visit—it didn't fill him with nervousness that he thought would usually apply to having in-laws visiting, though he didn't feel thrilled about vague memories of Alec's parents. "They're welcome here any time," he said with a smile, stealing a chaste kiss because he could without worrying who might be watching them. "Though we may need to soundproof our room, first," he added with a salacious wink.
Admiring the ring on Alec's finger, deciding that the large size and weight suited him perfectly. There was also something about the silver that matched Alec better than any other metal might have, further reassuring him that the ring belonged to his husband. Letting Alec turn his hands over and play with his fingers, his eyes followed to land on the simple band he wore. He took in the flames and the letter at their heart, smiling because he thought it matched his style surprisingly well. Pulse racing as it was slipped onto his finger, he tightened his hands around Alec's and looked up at him with another swelling of love and pride in his chest. "If you don't carry me over this threshold right now," he said, voice low as the air around them crackled with energy, "I'm going to make my vows to you on my knees with your pants around your ankles in front of the whole neighborhood."

Had she read those types of books?
"Eventually we'll both remember why you married me," he teased. He hoped they did. He wanted to remember more of their relationship than a few kisses and the wedding. If he didn't, they'd create new memories but he wanted to remember their first date. For some reason firsts seemed important to him.
"I will think of a very good reason," he promised, desire turning to concern when he saw Magnus' expression shift to something that he recognized but didn't know the reason for. Catching Magnus' hand, he pressed a kiss to his palm, then to each fingertip. "Remember no going where the other can't follow. We're together." Letting go of Magnus' hand when he shivered, Alec wrapping his arms around his husband's waist. "No one is going to take me from you. There's nothing I want more than to be here with you." Magnus needed to hear that, needed to know that Alec valued him above everything else. "You're the one I love most."
Alec wasn't sure why he phrased it that way but it was true and it was right. It was one of the few solid things he could rely on until he understood more of his - their - past. "Thank you. I miss them and I know it'll get worse when I can remember them." Was it strange that he didn't want to include his parents in that invitation? "May need to? I thought that it'd be a necessity along with locks."
Sliding the ring onto Magnus' finger, he wasn't sure if it would fit, but he felt the metal change as it settled into place. Magic like the flames that Magnus had created? He was about to ask if Magnus had done something to it when he felt the currents energy surround them. Even without his memories, Alec knew that Magnus was powerful and he had nothing to fear from the forces that his husband could control. Magnus' magic would never hurt him.
But his husband could lose control and Alec was sure the neighborhood wasn't ready for whatever form that Magnus' power might take if it slipped free... or the kind of show that they'd have if Magnus went through with that promise. Ignoring the blush that felt like it had to be visible a block away, he was awed by the love reflected in Magnus' eyes, not realizing that his expression mirroed his husband's. "I'm an exhibitionist but I'd prefer that to be a private ceremony."
Giving Magnus a look to ask for his agreement, Alec swept Magnus up into his arms in the way he assumed was correct for the tradition. As he started toward the door, he recited something that felt familiar like the rhyme he'd remembered. “Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death.”

Even when it felt like his heart was full to capacity with love for Alec, something made it spill over and wash through Magnus in a heady rush of affection. The kisses were delicate as they peppered over his hand, and he smoothed the pad of his thumb over Alec's lips as he kissed it. "I'm sorry, my love. I fear that we both might wander off in thought while our memories are returning." Allowing himself to be swept up into Alec's arms, he rested his forehead against the side of his jaw and pressed his nose against his pulse point just to feel his heart beating. "I won't let anyone take you from me," he said with confidence, tightening his arms around Alec and gripping at the back of his jacket. "I love you more than anything, Alexander."
Watching Alec place the ring on his hand, his eyes widened as it automatically changed to suit his more slender fingers. It was as if the ring knew that it belonged on Magnus and was altering itself to accommodate him, further proof that it was meant for him. The closer he looked into their lives, the more magic he could find in even the simplest of objects; it only increased his curiosity regarding the memories that alluded them both.
Magnus laughed brightly as Alec's words caught his attention, and he traced a finger up the side of his neck and down the line of his jaw. "We'll have to explore the backyard a little next time," he said, smirking with a raise of his eyebrows. "I'm sure there's somewhere back there to suit those fantasies, but for now I'd like to christen our new home."
Making a sound of surprise as he was lifted into strong arms, he didn't once doubt that Alec could hold his weight. He wrapped his arms around his neck and grinned, though the smile softened as Alec spoke such strong words that sounded as deep and profound as any wedding vow. "Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame," he found himself replying, carding his fingers through Alec's thick hair as he carried Magnus through the front door, "Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it."
no subject
"I love you too, Magnus." For a moment, he stumbled over the next words he wanted to say. Something told him that something would hold them back from sharing their lives. There was some unstoppable force that would make that impossible but Alec wasn't sure what it could be. They were both healthy; the hospital wouldn't have released them if they weren't. "We're going to spend the rest of - " My. "Our lives together."
He told himself to ignore the strange phrasing that had he'd almost spoken aloud. There was nothing to worry about. Magnus promised to stay with him. They had spoken sacred vows. He was afraid of shadows and doubt, not anything tangible. "As long as we wander back, then everything will be all right."
Breath hitching at the idea of what they could do when the neighbors couldn't see, Alec smirked at the sound Magnus made when he picked him up. It wasn't often that he surprised someone with his abilities. "We need a high fence so no one can see." When he was sure that he wouldn't drop his husband, he made his way through the doorway, heart aching with happiness as they entered the house.
Whether they ever remembered their wedding or not, Alec would consider this moment as sacred as that ceremony. The words they had spoken were as powerful as any vow they might have spoken on holy ground. Their hearts and lives were bound together. Whatever fears he might have for the future didn't have the power to destroy that. Brushing a kiss lightly across Magnus' lips, a phrase that he didn't quite recognize came to mind. "Aku cinta kamu."
no subject
Setting his needless concerns aside, Magnus decided it was much more entertaining to focus on the house and a conversation about all of the things they could do in it as a couple. "I thought the point would be that someone might see," he pointed out with a bright smile that made him look even more cat-like. "Nosy neighbors peeking through the hedges. What a treat for them to stumble across us as I make love to you beside the pool." It was a beautiful image, and Magnus made a silent oath to create a beautiful backyard oasis for them to enjoy together at length.
Even if they were weaving in and out of serious confessions of love and devotion to each other, Magnus valued every word and seared the exchange into his memory. Held in Alec's arms, he could imagine that they were at their wedding again and he felt a pleasantly warm blush spread over his cheeks as he remembered the intensity of their kiss. It was a moment important enough for him to remember when everything else had fled his mind, and he held onto it desperately. His breath caught at the foreign words, meaning clicking into place before he even realized he understood what Alec was saying. They may have sounded simple, but rather impossibly, those three words carried more meaning than their English counterparts. "Oh buah hatiku," he replied, words soft as he clung closer and pushed forward to deepen the kiss. He was at a loss for a response, something he knew didn't happen often unless he was around Alec. "Alexander, kata-kata tidak dapat menjelaskan cintaku padamu, words cannot describe my love for you."
no subject
"Peeking is different than intruding. I don't want the neighbors filing complaints about us and ruining our fun." Smiling at the Cheshire smile, he nipped Magnus' ear. "But I don't mind putting on a show for them if you'd enjoy it." For some reason, Alec didn't think either one of them would be fazed by a voyeur. "We could try making love in the pool. I don't know if we've tried it yet but I want to." Would Magnus want to? For some reason he wasn't sure. Maybe Magnus didn't like water, but if that was true, then why did they have a pool?
Looking down at Magnus, he beamed when he realized he'd somehow made his husband blush. Alec was about to tease him about it, to remind Magnus that he wasn't the one who normally had an obvious reaction to their flirtation. He began to ask what his husband was thinking when Magnus spoke in a language that Alec didn't think he should understand. Indonesian. It was Indonesian that he'd spoken, telling Magnus he loved him in the language that meant the most to his husband. The language that mattered, which made the endearment even more important than any pet name that Magnus had given him.
Returning the kiss, he tried to show Magnus how much those words meant, how much he wished he could explain his feelings for him. Making a soft sound against Magnus' lips, he stumbled, hoping that he was headed in the right direction when all he could really think about was how much he loved his husband. By the Angel, he'd never thought he could have this. Marrying someone like Magnus was forbidden but somehow they had made it work. Magnus had fallen in love with someone like him when he could have anyone.
Trying to catch his breath, he tried to think of how to answer Magnus, English and Indonesian jumbling together in a way that he knew wouldn't make sense. He'd almost thought of the right phrase when something collided with the back of his knee, sending them both tumbling onto the couch. Holding onto Magnus tightly, he let out an 'oof' when his back collided with the cushions. When he was sure that they weren't going to end up on the floor, he began to relax his hold on Magnus, flushing brightly. "I'm usually more graceful than that."

"That would put a dampener on things," he agreed, gasping softly at the teeth against his ear. Digging his fingernails in against the back of Alec's neck, he felt his pulse quicken at the thought of someone watching them. For some reason, he wanted to show Alec off to the world—as long as he was Magnus' at the end of the day. "We could try the pool," he said, dragging his fingers through Alec's hair. "Maybe at night, with all the stars above us. I want to make love on every inch of our home," he added with a bright laugh as he thought about how free they could be here together.
The language—Bahasa Indonesia, his mind supplied—surprised Magnus as much as it had Alec. Though he spoke English with the ease of fluency, he found that slipping his thoughts into Indonesian was surprisingly natural despite his instinct that he didn't speak it often. It was another mystery to solve another time when he wasn't so thoroughly focused on the love he had for his husband.
Opening his lips to Alec's kiss, he echoed the sound and then laughed softly at the unease steps. He trusted Alec not to drop him, though, knowing his strength was enough to carry him safely to whatever destination he had in mind. Perhaps his trust was only slightly misplaced, he thought, as they suddenly fell together. Breath leaving him as he was squeezed against Alec's chest, the air around them caught fire with an instinctive spell to make sure no harm would come to Alec as he took the brunt of the fall. Once they were safe on the couch, Magnus slightly uncurled in Alec's arms and ran both hands over his face. "I'm proud to say I can sweep Alec Lightwood-Bane off of his feet," he teased, leaning in to kiss him fiercely.

It was frustrating not to know how much of this was normal for them and how much it was newlywed bliss, but it was exciting too. Everything was new. It was a first... and firsts were important. Heartbreakingly important to Alec for a reason he knew wasn't common. But they weren't exactly a common couple...
"At night," he agreed, sounding more breathless than he expected. "The stars will be brilliant here." Not like in the city. Which city? He almost asked if Magnus remembered but his husband laughed, sounding so happy that Alec didn't care about the past or their amnesia. They'd make another life here, find the happiness that they both deserved. "It'll be like we're the only people in the world. We'll make love all over the house and outside it. If the fence won't keep the neighbors out, your magic can." Alec wasn't sure how he knew that was true, but he knew that Magnus' power could give them privacy when they wanted it.
The weight on his chest made him breathless for a less enjoyable reason, but he didn't mind since Magnus was safe and he could take more damage than having someone fall on top of him. As he wheezed slightly, he stared over Magnus' shoulder, smiling in delight as he saw the spell that his husband had cast. They were surrounded by fire, but like the flames that had shimmered around Magnus' hand, Alec knew that this wouldn't harm him. None of Magnus' magic would ever truly hurt him. "It's beautiful," he whispered before focusing on Magnus' words.
Returning the kiss, he settled Magnus on top of him so that they'd both be more comfortable, then he let go of all his earlier worries, focusing on the being he'd promised to love forever, hoping Magnus would know how truly happy he finally was.
