open

just whip it

You can hear the Andalite's tail before you actually see him, the woosh and fwap and the rare bullwhip crack that makes some of the passersby and an unfortunate person demonstrating types of knot flinch. Go in search of the noise and you find that the Andalite's co-opted a tape-bordered stretch of grass and is striking clay disks that a very game teenager is launching at a sheet that's been rigged to catch any that aren't stopped.

And some aren't stopped. The Andalite's tail is fast but he doesn't hit every one, especially when several are launched in quick succession. Still, he's intent with all four eyes and for his troubles has a coat of clay dust and small fragments. The grass nearby is littered with broken targets.

This is apparently set up to allow people to practice hitting fast targets and the marker-on-posterboard sign portrays a human figure with a baseball bat, there are things like a bucket of tennis balls and a launcher sitting neglected at a table. The Andalite is rather hogging the space.

why

After the skills fair ends, the Andalite hangs around, morphing into his long-haired Aria shape to take advantage of the spread of food. He only carries one plate, though, moving with the deliberate care of someone not completely sure of having two legs, and seems to be making something out of a mix of options.

It looks like he's adding hot sauce and chopped tomatoes to a scoop of ice cream that's on a heap of spaghetti? Is that a lemon wedge? He's glancing at whatever you've got.

"Pardon, but where did you find that?" Out loud he speaks a bit slowly to enunciate better.
