"Well, that's a relief. I won't have to bake any time soon." The petite shadowhunter jokes, a twinkle of mirth in her eyes. She's not exactly serious about the threat, anyway. But everyone gets a bit of a kick out of it, and Izzy has never been one to not take the easygoing road in interactions like this. The pat on her shoulder throws her off of her game for a moment. Izzy hadn't forgotten about her promise to her brother, but she also hadn't followed through just yet either. So, the pat on her shoulder feels a little more uncomfortable than anything else. She's done everything she could to hide it, from everyone, thus far. Her smile falters slightly as she continues to joke. "I'll be on the look out in the hedges." She winks, lifting her hand up to Magnus' elbow in a small touch, and half guiding his hand away from her shoulder.
She manages, mostly, not to miss any conversational beats, though. Nodding at Magnus' assessment she can't say she disagrees about her brother, not in the least. "That's what I tend to tell people, like Clary when I ran into her." Wetting her lips, considering the fresh reminder....and for the sake of not lying to her brother, Izzy choses the moment to segue into something that she's been putting off.
"Speaking of Alec's gooey center..." Izzy sighs, hating to do this at all. "I promised him that I would ask you to look at my shoulder some time." Holding up the hand opposite the shoulder he managed to touch, Izzy holds it up as a preventative....just in case he worries or is gung-ho like her brother can be at times. "I'm not in a hurry, it's no rush, but whenever you have time coming up. It's been bothering me a little since the accident and you know how Alec worries." Izzy speaks lightly, downplaying it all.
After all, Alec is probably just being a worrywart. That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway. She's not sure why she's put it off until now either, though. And a party is a terrible time to bring it up, but....better now than never, she's sure Alec would say.
