"I know." He did. Izzy had been the one person who supported him during his many crises about his sexuality and his fears about their parents disowning him for one reason or another. Jace would have helped, but Alec had been too afraid to tell him the truth to ever get that kind of help from his best friend. "That doesn't mean I like that the three of you are at odds." He almost apologized for being the cause of that fighting, but it wasn't his fault. Maryse and Robert needed to accept who he was.

"It is a good turnout and Magnus did an amazing job with decorating." Looking over at the Jell-O, he quirked an eyebrow up at that detail. That might have been a little too faithful to the era. "People seem interested in the shop." And Magnus seemed interested in throwing more parties which would help with those worries about boredom.

Instead of commenting on their parents' marriage, Alec made a non-committal sound. Izzy might be accepting the divorce but that didn't mean it was a good time to talk about it. "Something else did, but I'm not sure what. It was something serious." But every time Alec tried to focus on the reason or his name, the details slipped away. "I don't think you cared about well-dressed before." Stealing a bite of Jell-O before she threw it away, he arched an eyebrow at his little sister. "Isn't having your gay brother set you up like one of those weird, Mundane cliches?" Rolling his eyes, he pretended to be annoyed, but the expression quickly changed to a smile. "Yes, I mingled. Magnus taught me how to deal with parties."
