Taking a step back, he arched an eyebrow at Clary before setting down the Jell-O tower. He hadn't expected to startle her but Magnus and Izzy were used to how quiet he could be. "I haven't tried the lime yet. Are there other flavors for green?" It was probably a weird question. Everyone at the party except Alec and Izzy seemed to know what the gelatin was.

"I think Magnus magicked it up but he said something about letting the layers set?" The explanation shouldn't have been a question but Alec really had no idea. When he threw together makeshift meals for his siblings, wiggly desserts hadn't been a priority.

Letting out a sigh, he idly rubbed the base of his palm. He almost asked if she wanted him to leave but she seemed to want t talk to him. "I don't know if I'm really 'at ease' but I'm more comfortable with being around people than I used to be. Magnus loves parties and he knows to make sure there's someplace quiet I can go when there's too many people around. I don't really like crowds but this is a good way to get people to notice the shop and to share music. Jace likes music but our tastes are supposed to be only classical."
