Jyn would have gotten it eventually, once she was done silently complaining, but it's nice to not have to expend the effort.

"Why?" A datapad would be so much easier to use, why are they stuck in the 90s? Plus a datapad would hold the entire series on one portable little tablet instead of a stack of books on her bookshelf. Books suck. Jyn doesn't get the appeal, honestly.
