"Don't you ever get tired of me turning different shades of red?" He tried to sound grumpy about it but there was too much amusement in his voice. With Magnus, he didn't care about the blushes. He'd had to hide them before but he wasn't sure why. It seemed like the reason was more than just not wanting to be teased by his siblings, but Alec wasn't sure why it had been so important to hide.

Even though he was used to Magnus' magic and the flames that wrapped around their hands, he still made sure that no one would see the sign of magic unless they looked carefully. Their neighbors seemed accepting but Alec didn't want someone to panic because of the strange sight.

Letting out a slow breath, he focused on having Magnus beside him, ignoring the memory to focus on what was supposed to be a special moment for them. It could still be salvaged... he hoped. Someone else had taken his place in the 'spotlight' and was reciting something Alec hadn't heard before. In English, of course. "Magnus, did you understand the poem?" Their pet names for each other were in other languages but they'd traveled. The endearments could be things they picked up while on their honeymoon but that didn't explain why Latin poetry was familiar to Alec.
